If you were a plant, what kind of plant would you be?...and why?

If you were a plant, what kind of plant would you be?...and why?

I remember this question from the Area Manager who conducted my final interview for the Team Leader post back in one of my previous call center company. I replied "A Cactus". They were obviously a bit surprised with the answer since a Cactus is something that very few people would like to have in their garden, I'm only assuming.

So my two interviewers asked Why a Cactus? So I replied:

A Cactus looks unappealing to many, something that you do not want to approach due to its thorns and spikes. Imagine when you are in the harsh environment of the desert with no food and water and you see a Cactus, you will think twice if this is something worth checking out or just ignore it. If you do check it out and try to cut it in half you will find yourself nourishment that can help you survive and lift up your spirit to overcome the desert.

I am like that. To many people I am someone unapproachable, the “suplado” type and you will hesitate to go near me. In other words, they say I am not personable.

But I can proudly say that when somebody needs my help in the most difficult situations, I will always be there to provide support. I am always there to help. Like a Cactus I can provide nourishment and help ease the difficult time.

I am sure the interviewers like the answer because the I got the position J.

So what about you? What kind of a plant are you?
